Why are my Grass Mats Sinking?

Our Clients often say that they are reluctant to use grass mats due to experiencing them sinking over time. On good, stable, well-drained ground, grass mats are the perfect cost-effective solution for playground surfacing needing CFH (critical fall height) protection up to two meters. However if not regularly maintained, wet, boggy earth or poor ground conditions can lead to grass mats sinking.

  1. Once all of the mats are fixed together, at intervals of 500mm, secure your grass mats into the ground by hammering or malleting the plastic fixing pegs to ensure the mats will not move when walked on. Begin using your grass mats and wait for your grass to being growing through for a sturdy and natural looking grassed area. Q: Can I drive or park on these rubber grass mats?
